Dear Oenophile
Ah, now here’s a truly interesting mix. St Hallett’s of course, in Australia’s Barossa Valley cranks out great wines at a great price. This little pup is a blend of 61%, 32% and 7% of the above stated varietals. It’s the Touriga Nacional that perks my interest. It tosses in lovely spice and adds dark tones to the fruit. Touriga Nacional is one of the major components in Port. To wit, the Portuguese are now making some killer dry red out of it. Albeit the tannin levels are heroic. So that’s a challenge. At any rate this is a lovely drop that drinks nicely beyond its price point. Hints of black pepper and supple cherry fruit coat the pallet. Its well fleshed, not tannic and will leave you saying “I’ll have a bit more of that”. After a glass I am sure that you and the Gamekeeper will be good friends. Avalible at all three locations Huffman, Dimond and Jewell Lake. List Price $16.99 Your Price $12.99Thank You |
