Dear Oenophile
A while back I was tasting through some wines with one of my best suppliers and out comes this Valpolicella from Tommasi. One sniff and I started laughing. “Patrick” I said “This stuff is gonna make me like Italian wine!” It’s true. There’s plenty to love here. The aromas are so engaging. They have this sultry perfume. It’s like dark spice, flowers, anise, fragrant woods it just keeps shifting. The mouth is sweet fruits similar to cherry but darker. It’s dry and there are mild tannin’s and a light delicate body with a finish well into the 30 second range. That said, this is one of the best salmon wines I can recommend. Buck the trend I say. Get out of the Pinot Noir rut. One sip and you’ll be hooked!
