Dear Oenophile
If you’re free this Monday after work the Anchorage Wine House and Ruby’s Café will be holding a small wine tasting and fund raiser for the Anchorage Opera. It’s called Vino e Voce and it’ll be regular thing on the first Monday of every month. Ruby’s Cafe and the Opera are handling all monies and reservations. Ruby’s is located in the KeyBank Center on the corner of C and Benson, 101 West Benson Blvd, ph 907 339 9393. The Opera’s number is 907 279 2557. Tickets $30, time 6:30 to 8:30 pm, date Monday Jan 7th. Walk in’s welcome.
Why should you go? Check out the list below and you will see. There are no weak sisters here. The Produttori rocks! The Damilano Barolo is killer and I bet you would never in a million years pick up a bottle of Cleto Charli Lambrusco. It’s very cool stuff and never, never pass up a Ripassa. Ruby’s puts on some great Asian fusion treats and the event isn’t very long. You can come taste and go. There is plenty of seating and it’s completely unhurried.
While we are tasting the Opera brings out some talent and we get a mini performance right there in the restaurant! The voices are simply amazing!
