Burgundy Oregon Germany Loosen Bros USA Tasting
Well, we’re tasting again, this time a fine grouping from Loosen Brothers USA. Years ago Ernie Loosen began working with Bob Bertheau at Ch Ste Michelle in a collaboration that created Eroica, proving Washington State can indeed produce world class Riesling. Ernie is still a frequent visitor his passion and efforts have led to other partnerships such as J.Christopher’s Pinot Noir in Oregon.
The Loosens span 200 years of winemaking in Germany but today they represent so much more! Loosen Bros.USA imports Nicolas Potell’s Ch de Bellene (Burgundy) and offer the 90pt J Christopher’s Pinot Noirs (Oregon). All of these wines are family owned, dirt to bottle, artisan quality products. I promise you this tasting is worth the extra effort for a Thursday night.
Our tasting will consist of:
2010 Dr. Loosen Red Slate Dry Riesling
2010 Dr. Loosen Blue Slate Kabinett
2010 Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese
2009 Ch de Bellene Bourgogne Chardonnay
2009 JJ Pinot Noir, Williamette
2010 J. Christopher Pinot Noir, Williamette
2009 Ch de Bellene Bourgogne Pinot Noir
2009 Ch de Bellene Meursault
2009 Ch de Bellene Gevrey Chambertin
But wait! There’s more! Our presentation will be made by Doug Krenik a Master Sommelier of which there are only 169 worldwide. Doug also carries a CWE or Certified Wine Educator from the Society of Wine Educators.
As you can see we will be covering some great ground! Tariff for this event is only $45. The tasting date is Thursday May 17th 7pm in the Fore Deck of the Captain Cook Hotel Ballroom. For reservations please email or call Mike at mike@anchoragewinehouse.com or 907 677 9050.
